Halloween, 31st October, the night the dead come back to visit us and maybe haunt us.
Don’t worry, its just a pagan festival which has its origins in Celtic times, when animals were often slaughtered and thrown onto bonfires in an attempt to ward off evil spirits.
Pumpkins were hollowed out and carved into hideous masks, with a candle burning in the center. These were carried around by people dressed in costume and masks.
Trick and treat became synonymous with Halloween and like many pagan festivals commercialism has taken over and now 31st October has become big business for costume manufacturers, games suppliers and face paint.
To get the total Halloween look it is imperative that you look like a ghoul or a demon and one of the easiest ways is to apply incredible eye makeup.
Oh, and if you want to go that extra mile (and you have a valid prescription) then getting some crazy contact lens will definitely increase the scare factor!
