Jennifer Anston

For a natural looking face like Jennifers, never apply too much eye makeup, especially during the day.

For fresh appeal brush your eyelids with a beige colored powder shadow. There are many varying shades of brown from taupe to golden brown. The choice is yours, only aim for the paler end of the spectrum, as this is your base color.

Apply a slightly darker shade of brown into the crease of your eye, making sure you blend in well, using a wide flat brush. Use this color shadow close to the top and lower lashes using a thin tapered brush. Make sure you reach between the lashes. You can do this by dotting the powder gently along your lash line and smudging it in.

Above the crease blend in a small amount of a pearly shade of cream to add highlights and gloss.

Lashes often need curling before applying mascara unless you opt for a professional eyelash dye and permanent curling.

A models trick to lengthen lashes is to carefully dust the lashes with talc in between mascara applications. Sprinkle a little onto a tissue and gently pat your lashes whilst still wet.

Eyebrows should be brushed and shaped with a small brush and powder, which is as close as possible to your hair color. Follow the natural line of your brow and fill in, if necessary with extra powder.

Remember this look is a natural look and so the secret is just to accentuate gently. Therefore blend, blend, blend.

Another fresh faced look, Cameron has beautiful blue eyes which she highlights using blue – lilac shadow as a base.

She then uses a deeper shade of base color or a light brown shade to define the crease.

For highlighting you can apply a pearly pale lilac or pink

For brows, which are light, you can create definition to your whole face by brushing them with brown shadow. Add a touch of gel to keep unruly brows in place.

For this look never use darker mascara than brown or dark brown.

OK we all know that to become a celebrity the ability to be pushy, outrageous and grab the headlines in tabloids is the key to getting noticed but to become a true celebrity, that is someone with a real talent that gets noticed, requires a lot more than just playing up to the paparazzi.

As a result they can make a good living, go to all the best parties, or at least most of the well-publicized ones and the girls in particular have the opportunity to become trophy arm candy and even trophy wives.

Many of the truly talented are confident enough in their own abilities and success that they can afford to hide their light under a bushel but what of the rest.

The truth lies somewhere between having a strong desire to succeed in the material world, overwhelming self confidence, and recognizing that they are likely to come up short in the talent stakes.

Having ambition to get a better life is to be admired, even if many of us question the type of life that they aspire to, but then each to their own.

Not long afterward a Royal enjoyed the same experience and even though the attention given to the admirer of this lovely lady, he was not an attention seeker, in fact he was a wealthy and successful man, he reluctantly became an overnight celebrity but has now lived it down.

Having good looks helps a lot and is the next most important attribute necessary for a celebrity career.

Now a lot of women may have the personality, the self confidence and the desire to succeed in hitting the gossip columns on a permanent basis but feel a bit ´iffy´ about their looks.

Seriously this is no problem if you have sufficient will to get regular mentions in Hello.

It might take a little help from your favorite plastic surgeon but think what its done for Jordan, this lady has had the complete makeover and what a success.

If you can find some ´before and after´ pictures this shows a complete transformation from ´ordinaire´ to utterly desirable.

No wonder she is in the papers or on TV or is in this glossy or the other and there is hardly a day when she doesn’t get a mention.

And she has become a very successful lady!

Now we all know about breast enhancement and it is usually obvious, having the buns lifted and tummy tucks are not quite as noticeable but when the face goes under the knife as well then a ´dog´ can turn into the sexiest woman that no red blooded man could ignore – and men rule the media!

And here is the point of this article, it is the eyes and their surroundings that have the most impact, however perfect the body it is the face that is the turn on, can you imagine the paparazzi bothering to photograph anybody whose face is forgettable just because they have a body to die for?

And the center of attention is always the eyes, it is not only when we meet people in the flesh, it is when we look at the photos of celebrities in the papers and magazines, or when they appear on TV we are all drawn to the eyes and their immediate surroundings.

Adding fuel to the controversy surrounding the use of  ‘stick thin’ models on the catwalks and runways of the world is the refusal announced by Britains Fashion Council not to call for a ban on models considered to be too thin.

After a meeting in Paris of the worlds fashion federations, the fashion council declared that a ban was neither desirable or enforceable and suggested that healthy models above the age of sixteen should only be used.

The fact is that if a ban is introduced there is every possibility that naturally stick thin girls, however healthy, will be discriminated against as the fashion industry leans over backwards to employ models that will not encourage controversy and not put in jeopardy the grants and sponsorship they enjoy from putting on shows in the fashion capitals of the world.

Naturally politicians have got on the bandwagon and, as so often is the case, in their desire for self promotion and publicity they have not thought through the logical consequences of such a ban being imposed.

The London Assembly supports London Fashion Week. The Liberal Democrats who sit on the assembly have called upon Ken Livingstone, the mayor to act!

The parties culture spokeswoman, Dee Doocey, a not particularly significant figure in British politics, has demanded that the Mayor withdraw funding and encourage other sponsors to do the same, going on to denounce the Fashion Councils decision as “ meaningless and pure tokenism” and putting “ profits ahead of women’s health”.

There has been some instances of models suffering from eating disorders in trying to maintain the so called stick thin image deemed to be a necessity for catwalk work and a reported case in Brazil of a model suffering from a fatal heart attack brought about by being anorexic.

It is upon this evidence that critics believe the use of slender catwalk models sends out the wrong message to all girls that to be fashionable they must be ultra thin leading to the danger of succumbing to an eating disorder to do so.

Spain got in on the act earlier last year by imposing bans on the use of ultra thin models, irrespective of their health.

The Italian government and its fashion leaders have entered an agreement to keep models “who appear sickly thin” off the catwalks unless they can prove themselves fit and healthy.

The French health authorities are in talks with their fashion industry on the subject and in Brazil a campaign has been launched to ban under age and underweight models from the runways and catwalks.

In the Brazilian instance it must be hoped that the term underweight is given due thought in a health context.

New York’s fashion show organizers have very sensibly only issued guidelines and not imposed any bans.

So far all the restrictions proposed or imposed by other countries, with the sole exception of Spain’s discriminatory and ill thought through and arbitrary imposition of bans that could also be construed as an unnecessary assault on civil rights, have been sensible and justified.

Britain’s Fashion Council has a very sensible stance on this issue.

If London’s Fashion Week is destroyed, Britain’s fashion industry becomes undermined, models and the many others that rely on the industry lose their livelihoods due the self promoting zeal of a second rate politician with the support of her equally low calibre party colleagues it will add to the increasingly poor opinion of politicians shown by the public.

It is in the interests of all concerned in the British fashion industry that the Mayor of London does not give any credence to the Liberal Democrats actions and comes out strongly in support of the Fashion Councils sensible suggestions.
