The eye area can show the first signs of ageing. To help solve some eye beauty problems here are some tips to make your eyebrows, eye lids and lashes look glamorous, groomed, brighter and most importantly, younger.
Eye Beauty Problems – Thinning Eyebrows
You will need a really good eye pencil so be prepared to pay for quality. As the years roll by your eye brows begin to thin, the color can fade and small gaps may appear. A thin hard line does not suit the older face.
You need to fill in the gaps as naturally as possible so your pencil should have a fine brush tip. Apply thin upward slanting strokes along the line of your eyebrows to give them a little more body. Also it is important to get a pencil with a natural looking shade to suit you. Just avoid that thin black eyebrow line that made you look so good when you were younger.
Eye Beauty Problems – Bags Under your Eyes
Apart from looking ageing, under eye bags can cause smudges below your lower eyelashes when you blink. There are a choice of cosmetic products that can reduce the puffiness and tighten the skin at the same time providing a base for concealer.
Avoid accentuating the lower eye lids and lashes with strong lines and make-up as this highlights that tired look that comes with eye bags.
Eye Beauty Problems – Droopy Lids
To avoid resorting to cosmetic eye surgery (blepharaplasty) you can use this trick which will make the eye lids appear to be lifting a little upwards. Use a brown or grey eye pencil or shadow on your upper eye lash to define the line, then in the outer corner smudge the line and slightly thicken with a cotton bud. Avoid black or dark brown pencils as they can will give a heavier effect than the lighter shades.
Alternatively use a lighter shade concealer pen and just touch up the corner with a small upward flick.
Eye Beauty Problems – Small Eyes
Small eyes give the impression of pigginess so this is where you have to highlight the upper lids and lashes to give the effect of larger eyes. First get your eyelash curler as close to the bottom of your lashes that you can before curling, then apply a coat of mascara.
Repeat and then comb through with a dry brush to remove any excess. Emphasising the curl on the upper lashes is the best way to enlarge your eyes.
Eye Beauty Problems – Crepey Upper Eyelids
To avoid showing up the creases do not directly apply eye shadow as this will highlight the crepey look. Create a light even base by applying a little concealer or illuminating foundation then gently rub in long lasting cream shadow to the upper lids and top of the eye socket.
