Anti Wrinkle Cream Scare
Researchers at the Université Laval's Faculty of Medicine have stated in an article, dated 14 April 2007, that they have discovered that a compound commonly used in many anti wrinkle products can have an adverse reaction on the skin.
The compound DMAE (2-dimethylaminoethanol) is also used in other cosmetics such as shampoo, lipstick, face creams, soaps and even baby lotions.
Cosmetic companies, keen to make a fortune in this ever hungry world of image perfection seekers, are rather apt to add all kinds of compounds and chemicals to products in an effort to produce the next best anti aging cream.
As stated in the article the laws regulating their use are far less restrictive than those regulating drugs.
Who knows what the long term effects are?
